New Dedicated Server!

January 24th, 2012 No Comments »

I am pleased to announce that I have purchased a Dedicated Server. This server is owned by me and security managed by a trusted friend so your data is in a safe place!

I no longer use someone elses server for secruity issues but because I have moved to a dedicated server the costs go up which will reflect on the hosting prices so please keep checking back for the information.

Thanks for your patience,

~ SL

New Website Theme

December 3rd, 2011 No Comments »

This is no longer required. The themes have been found and will be updated on the website after editing.

We are now on the lookout for a new theme for the website.

The theme we use is called iTheme. I do not like whole layout of the theme though – it’s trying to be like Apple.

We before had the theme LightWord but it didn’t offer some features that we required, like custom 404 pages.

The theme should be simple, customisable, support widgets and good looking.

One theme will be used on SamLowe.co.uk Public Relations and a different theme used for olidoo.co.uk (see earlier entry)

The theme should be for a WordPress Blog and you can see the themes here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

Please send your suggestions to pr@samlowe.co.uk and as soon as we have a few contenders, we shall update the website theme!

olidoo.co.uk Site Rebuild

December 2nd, 2011 No Comments »

If you have been redirected here from olidoo.co.uk, this is because the site is having a whole new rebuild. You will be redirected here until the rebuild is complete.

olidoo.co.uk is a site that is co-owed by and developed by Sam Lowe. olidoo.co.uk currently looks rather drab, lacks colour and is full of inconsistencies and advertising. This is because the site has been developed by several different develops who all have their own, personal style. The site will be rebuilt without advertisements with a splash of colour and will be updated much more often than it is now!

We expect the site to be down for two – three weeks, however we don’t expect the site to be down any longer than that. If in the meantime you need to contact Oliver about his site or a private matter, do not use the usual contact method but contact Oliver DIRECT on contact@olidoo.co.uk

We look forward to releasing the new updated version of the website.

PR Updates

November 8th, 2011 No Comments »

As well as making some updates to the main website, updates have been made to Public Relations which I will briefly outline below.

  • Email Policy:- We provided access of the company email policy to all members of the public so they know what high standards we expect at SamLowe.co.uk. We also released the formatting of emails for those of you who wondered why you were getting emails from a different address every time!
  • Contact Form:- We provided a contact form for anyone that wanted to contact us without having to open up their email client. They can now send emails directly from the website.
  • Partner Sites:- We provided a list of sites that were either owned by us, run by us or co-owned by us so people can see our work in other places and know that the other websites are safe, trustworthy places.
  • Partner Sites Contacts:- We have provided details on which you should contact us if you have a problem with one of the partner sites as some of the emails are different.
  • Staff Section:- Staff of SamLowe.co.uk now have their own section of the website. You need a password to view this though, so if you’re not staff, that’s why you can’t see anything ;)

Maintaincence Started

November 7th, 2011 No Comments »

The plans have changed since this was posted. The plan now is to redirect all traffic to Public Relations until further notice.
We apologise for any incovenience but this is the best way until the developers get more time to exclusively  on the website.

~ SL

Well, it’s begun sooner than we thought, but maintaincence on SamLowe.co.uk has now begun.

When accessing SamLowe.co.uk, users are now told about the maintaincence in place and are told to visit public relations for updates.

The homepage is expected to be down for several weeks but we should return better than ever after that.

Look forward to releasing more updates on this, and look forward to releasing the new site. :-)

Sam Lowe QuickSupport Launched!

October 6th, 2011 No Comments »

I am please to announce that as from today, Sam Lowe QuickSupport will officially be launched and I’ll be available to help anyone with problems!

Sam Lowe QuickSupport will be downloadable to people who have prior permission, and will allow technicians to control the computer from a remote location and fix the problem. This is good because a) You don’t have to be in when repairs get undertaken b) You don’t have to go on extensive journeys to fix the computer c) It’s over the internet! So it works like magic!

The QuickSupport software isn’t built by me though, I’m afraid to say. It’s built by a company called TeamViewer. You can get it on your own licence and control your friends and families computers and fix them remotely!

So anyone requiring support, either contact the public relations officer or contact via phone and get your computer fixed, remotely! (The download link is not public knowledge as it will be abused and have to be removed. It can only be used for personal use and access has to be granted by Public Relations.)

.me.uk as well!?

September 17th, 2011 No Comments »

Look what we’ve got our hands on :)
Now, you can access the website through more than just samlowe.co.uk, but through samlowe.me.uk and can mirror all the URLs you would with .co.uk with .me.uk! Now isn’t that good :)

Included with that, is also the possibilty to extend our email addresses. So, not only can you contact us on pr@samlowe.co.uk, but on pr@samlowe.me.uk and the email will be sent to the same address! (Although replies will come from pr@samlowe.co.uk due to technical reasons with the email provider.)
